Crooked Log Cabin for the Precision Impaired - Amy Stewart Winsor, NC
Full Day: 9am-4pm

This is a fun, fast technique for the free spirited quilter who loves playing with color better than they like planning every detail. Learn to make "square in a square" crooked log cabin blocks by machine in class. In addition to all the things I teach in the three hour workshop, included in the six hour workshop are demonstrations on how to fit "non square" blocks together and how to make an uneven border as shown in the class samples. Learn tips on color placement, and ideas for machine quilting and embellishing.   http://winsorartquilts.com.

Full Day: 9am-4pm

Create whimsical houses using no rulers or patterns. Each unique house, with several surrounding borders, will be cut freehand with gentle curves using your rotary cutter. Great embellishments (such as fusible windows, beading, couching, and yoyos) and creative machine quilting designs (such as bricks, grass, and sky) will be demonstrated. Sewing machine required, straight stitch. In a 6 hour workshop you will complete most of a small quilt top, approximately 20" x 20", with a center house and several borders. http://winsorartquilts.com

The workshop offers students extensive one-on-one advice on color and fabric selection.

Square Bull's Eye-Judy Lundberg, MD
Full Day: 9am-4pm

Square Bulls Eye is a scrappy quilt with raw edge appliqué. Pre-cut a multitude of squares and appliqué them in class for a very colorful quilt. The appliquéd squares are cut apart and rearranged. Batiks work particularly well as they are tightly woven and don't fray very much.   For class sample and supply list, click here.
